When is the best time to travel to my destination?
The best time to travel depends entirely on your destination, your interests and your priorities. If you are considering countries such as Thailand or other Southeast Asian countries, it is best to go between November and March to avoid the monsoon season. South America enjoys its austral summer from December to February, making it ideal for exploring Argentina or Brazil. For safari enthusiasts, Kenya or the countries of southern Africa are best visited between May and October, while Northern Europe can be explored in mild weather between June and August. On the other hand, if you want to experience winter sports in Lapland and see the Northern Lights, it is best to go between December and March. Cultural events may also influence your choice. Admiring the cherry blossoms in Japan in April, soaking up the atmosphere of Rio Carnival in Rio in February or celebrating Holi in India in March are all unique experiences, but they are often more expensive. In terms of budget, the high season guarantees ideal weather but higher prices, while the low season allows you to travel for less, at the risk of less favourable conditions. Spring and autumn often offer a good compromise between weather, crowds and prices.
How do I choose my next holiday destination?
Airports & Travel has created a destination guide covering the world's main cities, territories and countries. With our Events and What to See and Do sections, you will not miss any event or tourist attraction worth seeing. Let yourself be inspired and easily find your next holiday destination by browsing our destination guide.
What is my travel budget?
If you are travelling on a tight budget, you will have to forgo far-flung destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Polynesia, South Africa or the Americas, and choose closer countries around the Mediterranean or in Europe instead. You can target so-called “low-cost” destinations such as the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia), Eastern European countries (Hungary, Romania and the Baltic countries), as well as Portugal and certain regions of Spain and Italy. If you have a moderate or generous budget and plan well in advance, you can opt for long-haul destinations such as the United States, Canada and Argentina, or countries with a higher cost of living, such as Norway, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland.
What would you like to do during your holiday, and what are your interests?
If you enjoy cultural or city breaks, visit a European city such as Lisbon, Rome or Vienna. Take a stroll through the parks, visit museums and exhibitions, and head out to bars and restaurants in the evening. If, on the other hand, you love nature and peace and quiet, opt for greener destinations such as Sweden, South America or New Zealand. If you are looking for a change of scenery, head to Asia, Bangkok or Japan. If you enjoy relaxing on the beach, choose islands such as Martinique, Tahiti or, closer to home, Crete and Sardinia.

Are the airfares offered by Airports & Travel competitive?
Yes, Airports & Travel’s airfares are among the lowest on the market. Thanks to our search engine, you can quickly identify the most competitive offers, whether for direct flights or flights with connections. The best airfares are displayed in real time, inclusive of all taxes, with no hidden fees. What you see is what you pay! In addition, the flight deals section gives you direct access to the best promotions and cheap flights departing from and arriving at the airport of your choice. These offers are dynamic and updated continuously. They are based on the best prices found directly from the airlines.
Can I pay for my booking in instalments?
Yes, this is possible with our partner Floa Bank. At the payment stage, select the “pay in four instalments” option. Your request will be sent to Floa Bank, which will send you confirmation detailing the four instalments, including their dates and amounts. This option is available for bookings of €50 or more.
Are there any booking fees?
No. Bookings are made directly online, transparently and with no hidden fees.
Are there any fees for paying by credit card?
No. No bank fees are charged, except for payment in four instalments, which constitutes a credit agreement.
Are airport taxes included in the fares?
Yes, the fares shown on www.aeroports-voyages.fr include all taxes, including airport taxes.
What types of flights can I find from my airport?
With Airports & Travel, you can quickly view the entire air network and the flight schedule from your local airport. You can search for and book your flight with all airlines, including low-cost carriers, to reach your destination in the best possible conditions. Some charter or specially chartered flights may not be available. Our regularly updated flight schedule highlights direct flights. You can book a one-way flight, a return flight or a multi-city itinerary with one or more airlines in a single booking.
How can I find information about a particular airline?
In the airlines section, Airports & Travel lists most airlines serving French-speaking airports. You can view each airline’s flight schedule and search for a ticket departing from the airport of your choice. With one click, you can also access the promotions offered by each carrier.
Can I earn miles and enter my airline loyalty-card details?
Yes. When booking with Airports & Travel, you can earn miles with the airline you book by entering your customer-card number in the “airline loyalty card” field. To access it, tick “Optional information” below the telephone number. You can also enter your loyalty-card details when checking in online on the airline’s website. Please note, however, that some special fares are not eligible for miles.
What documents do I need to book a flight and travel?
It depends on the destination. For French travellers, an identity card is sufficient to travel to one of the 27 countries in the Schengen Area. This includes many European countries, as well as Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein, but not the United Kingdom since Brexit. For all other, more distant destinations, you will need at least a valid passport that remains valid for more than six months after the date of your return flight, and sometimes a visa, depending on the length and purpose of your stay, whether tourist or business.
How can I compare airlines based on comfort, services and reviews?
To compare airlines based on comfort, services and reviews, you should cross-check several reliable sources. Comfort can be assessed by seat pitch, meal quality and cabin noise levels. Emirates, for example, is often praised for its spacious seats and refined service. On-board services vary by class: Wi-Fi, individual screens, gourmet meals and multilingual assistance can all make a difference. Passenger reviews are essential for identifying recurring weaknesses such as delays or unfriendly staff. Platforms such as AirAdvisor bring together verified reviews and rankings based on travellers’ real experiences. To make an informed choice, it is useful to read recent feedback and check whether the airline meets expectations on long-haul or regional flights.
What cabin and checked-baggage allowances apply with different airlines?
Baggage allowances for the cabin and hold vary by airline, but a few general rules can help you plan ahead. In the cabin, most airlines allow one carry-on bag measuring approximately 55 x 35 x 25 cm, weighing between 7 and 12 kg depending on the class and fare, to be placed under the passenger seat. You may also bring a small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag. For checked baggage, the standard limit is generally 23 kg per bag, with total dimensions of 158 cm (height + width + length). Some airlines, such as Air France and Qatar Airways, allow up to 32 kg in higher travel classes, while low-cost carriers such as Ryanair, EasyJet and Volotea may charge for every additional kilogram. Low-cost airlines are much stricter about cabin baggage: they generally allow only one small personal item to be placed under the seat and charge extra for bringing a 10 kg cabin suitcase. It is therefore essential to check the specific conditions on your carrier’s official website, especially if you have connecting flights or flights operated by partner airlines.
Can I travel with a pet? What are the requirements?
Yes, it is possible to travel with a pet, but the requirements vary by airline, destination and type of animal. In general, dogs and cats may be accepted in the cabin if they weigh less than 8 kg, including the carrier. Heavier animals must travel in the hold in an approved crate. Some airlines, such as Air France and Lufthansa , require a specific booking at least 24 to 48 hours before departure. Your pet must be identified by an electronic microchip, have its vaccinations up to date and have a European pet passport if you are travelling within the European Union. For destinations outside the EU, additional health requirements may apply, such as quarantine or specific veterinary certificates. We recommend checking the official website of your airline and the embassy of your destination country for the exact requirements. Travelling with a pet requires advance planning, as the number of animals allowed on board is limited and the formalities can take time.
Can I request a special meal, such as vegetarian or gluten-free?
Yes, you can request a special meal on board, provided you order it in advance. Most airlines offer menus suitable for vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, halal and allergen-free diets, particularly on long-haul flights. For example, Air France allows passengers to choose a vegan or gluten-free meal up to 24 hours before departure, while airlines such as Emirates and Lufthansa offer a wide range of special dishes to meet dietary or religious requirements. It is essential to make the request when booking or through your customer area, as these meals may not be available at the last minute. To avoid any unpleasant surprises, check the exact conditions on your airline’s official website and make sure your choice has been confirmed before the flight.
Are services available for passengers with reduced mobility or Unaccompanied minors?
Yes, most airlines offer dedicated services for passengers with reduced mobility and Unaccompanied minors, provided that you book them in advance. For passengers with a disability, free assistance is available at European airports, including help with boarding, wheelchair transport and assistance to the boarding gate. Unaccompanied minors can travel from the age of 4 or 5, depending on the airline, with a supervision service that looks after them from check-in through to arrival. This service often includes personalised supervision, identification badges and assistance during connections. You must provide the required documents and comply with each carrier’s specific requirements. For peace of mind, we recommend checking the exact arrangements on the chosen airline’s official website and requesting assistance at least 48 hours before departure.
Do I need a visa or vaccinations for my destination?
Yes, depending on your destination, a visa or certain vaccinations may be mandatory. For travel outside the European Union, many countries require a tourist visa, often applied for online or through the embassy. Some countries, such as the United States, require specific formalities before departure, such as applying for an ESTA. In terms of health requirements, some vaccinations are strongly recommended or even required for entry, such as yellow-fever vaccination for equatorial Africa or South America, or meningitis vaccination for pilgrimages to Mecca. You are advised to check these requirements at least one month before departure, as some vaccinations take time to become effective. Official websites such as Vaccination Info Service provide detailed country-by-country information. For visa requirements, the France Diplomatie website tells you about the exact formalities based on your nationality and destination. Airports & Travel has created a section called “Travel requirements”, dedicated to the administrative and health formalities for each country page. Feel free to consult it by selecting your holiday destination in our destination guide.
What is the difference between cancellation insurance and Multi-risk insurance?
Cancellation insurance covers only the costs associated with cancelling your trip before departure, for reasons specified in the policy, such as illness or an unforeseen work-related event. It ceases to apply once the trip has begun. Multi-risk insurance includes cancellation cover but also protects you during your stay, with medical assistance, repatriation, lost-baggage cover and personal-liability cover. It is essential to read the policy terms carefully to understand the exclusions and reimbursement limits. Your choice depends on the type of trip, the level of cover required, the destination and the activities planned.
Can I purchase Additional travel insurance, Multi-risk insurance or cancellation insurance online?
Yes. You can select two options during the booking process, depending on what you want to insure.
1) You want the option to cancel your trip before departure:
Airline tickets are generally NOT refundable if you cancel. Our Flex50 and Flex100 options allow you to receive 50% or 100% of the total ticket price, excluding insurance costs, as a travel voucher, with no supporting documents required. You can then use this amount to book new tickets wherever you wish for one year! We have added a time-limit variation to these two insurance options, creating four cancellation-insurance products:
- Flex 50 - 1 insurance: you can cancel up to the day before the outbound flight
- Flex 50 - 8 insurance: you can cancel up to 8 days before the outbound flight
- Flex 100 - 8 insurance: you can cancel up to 8 days before the outbound flight
- Flex 100 - 1 insurance: you can cancel up to the day before the outbound flight
IMPORTANT: For your cancellation request to be taken into account and processed, it must be submitted through your online customer record: section: Manage my booking: Cancel: Cancel with Flex.
2) You want cover against the various risks you may face during your trip:
For complete peace of mind, you can take out an insurance package covering medical expenses abroad, hospitalisation with repatriation, protection in the event of baggage theft, damage or loss, and compensation following a flight delay of four hours or more.
How does assistance work if I have a problem abroad?
If you have a problem abroad, assistance acts as a link between you and the medical, administrative or logistical services you may need. If you fall ill, have an accident or encounter a major difficulty, you can contact your travel insurer’s emergency number, available 24/7. The insurer will arrange treatment locally, repatriation if necessary, or even the travel of a relative in the event of prolonged hospitalisation. Some insurance policies also cover legal expenses, lost documents and emergency cash advances in the event of theft. For example, as stated in H24 Travel’s assistance terms, our booking partner, repatriation is covered as soon as your medical condition warrants it, with full medical and logistical coordination. It is essential to keep all supporting documents and notify the insurer before taking any personal steps, as expenses incurred without prior approval may not be reimbursed. Before departing, carefully check the cover included in your policy and save the emergency contact details. Good preparation lets you travel with peace of mind, even when the unexpected happens.
How does the booking process work?
To book, you must complete all the steps in the booking process. Start by entering your departure city and destination, then enter your travel dates and the number of travellers in each category: adult, child up to 11 years old, and infant aged 0 to 2. You can also choose your travel class: Economy Class, premium economy, business or first class. Once you have selected your flights, enter the passenger details in the “Travellers and additional services” section and, if you wish, add baggage and Flex cancellation insurance. Then go to the “Insurance” section, where you can add repatriation insurance, and finally proceed to the payment stage in the “Payer details” section. After payment, you will receive an acknowledgement containing a complete summary of your order and its status. Once your payment and booking have been definitively validated, you will receive confirmation and your travel documents, such as your booking confirmation or e-ticket, by email. Remember to check your spam or junk folder. Two days before departure, you will be invited to check in directly on the airline’s website and download your boarding passes. To help you, you will receive an email explaining the online check-in procedure and giving you your “airline name” reference. Our customer service team is also available to assist you if needed.
I cannot complete my booking, or the price has changed. What happens?
This may be due to several factors:
- A temporary server or internet outage. This is rare, but it can happen, particularly when connecting to your bank’s server. If this occurs, we recommend restarting your flight search from the beginning before attempting payment again.
- Insufficient funds in your account or a credit card that is not accepted on the website.
- The selected fare is no longer available at the time of payment.
Regarding the last point, please note that we always display real-time prices as charged by the airlines. However, several customers may search for similar flights at the same time. If one customer books the flights at the lowest fare first, that fare may then be adjusted according to the remaining availability. Consequently, when the offer is refreshed with the airline, the price may increase or decrease between the fare shown during the search and the price at final booking. We never impose such an increase on our customers. You will receive a message indicating that the booking failed, and your credit card will not be charged. This situation, caused by technology not updating quickly enough, is rare but can occur. If it happens, wait approximately 20 minutes before starting a new search. During the time needed for the airline’s inventory to be updated, we block any new booking attempts so that you do not risk purchasing a seat that is no longer available.
If you never reach the confirmation page after entering your credit card details, the booking has failed and you will not be charged. You can then restart your search and booking. If you get stuck at the same point on your second attempt, wait 20 minutes before submitting your booking request again. To ensure that no external factor disrupts your booking, we recommend clearing your browser history and cookies, or using a private-browsing window in your browser. To do this, press “Ctrl” + ↑ + “N” simultaneously on your keyboard.
Finally, if you have been charged but the booking was not confirmed—which is extremely rare—the refund is issued automatically by us after 24 hours. Your bank’s processing time must be added to this period.
After booking
How can I check the status of my booking?
To check whether your booking is confirmed, you can also log in to your online customer account using your 7-digit order number starting with N°00 and the email address used to make the booking: https://www.aeroports-voyages.fr/fr/contact
When will I receive my e-ticket?
Once you have completed your booking, you will receive an email entitled “Order being processed” containing your order number. If the payment goes through and the airline confirms the booking with us, you will receive your “Order confirmation” 10,15 minutes later, along with an email entitled “Your travel documents” containing your e-ticket, which includes the airline reference and your flight details. Finally, 3 days before departure, you will receive an email entitled “Edit your boarding pass” explaining how to log in to the airline’s website and check in online.
What is the difference between an e-ticket, an airline ticket and a boarding pass?
An airline ticket is a contract of carriage between the passenger and the airline, confirming that the trip has been booked and paid for. It contains all the information about your flight, such as the passengers’ names, destination, travel dates and the price paid. When it is issued electronically, it is referred to as an e-ticket. This is simply a digital version of the ticket, stored in the airline’s system and sent by email or accessible via an app. This document is not sufficient to board. The boarding pass, obtained after checking in, is the document that authorizes you to board the aircraft. It shows the boarding gate, the latest boarding time and the seat. Without it, even with a valid ticket, the passenger cannot board the aircraft.
How can I correct an error in the passenger’s name or contact details?
To correct a name error, you must go to your online customer account, open the “Travellers and Baggage” tab, select “Change passengers” and submit your request via the chatbot. You will also need to attach a screenshot of an identity document or the passport of the passenger whose name needs to be corrected. The booking service will then email you a quote showing the correction fee. To have the correction made, you must approve the quote by email.
How can I add baggage after booking?
To check the number and weight of the bags included in your booking or add one, go to your online customer account, open the “Travellers and Baggage” tab, then click “Add a bag”. You can then choose from the baggage options offered by the airline for your flight and view the different prices based on the size, type and weight of the baggage you want.
How can I choose my seat?
When you book, the airline randomly assigns you a seat on the aircraft. If you would like to choose a particular type of seat (wider) or sit in a specific area (front, middle or rear of the aircraft), you must select a seat and pay an additional fee. You have 2 options:
- When booking online with Airports & Travel, under “Choose your seats”, just after the baggage section.
- After booking, directly on the airline’s website
Can I change my flight?
Yes, you can change a flight provided that the airline’s policy allows it. In most cases, this is possible. To request a flight change, you must log in to your online customer account. Then submit your request via the chatbot under the “Changes - Cancellations” tab, in the “Change booking” section. You will then receive a quote by email, which you must approve so that the booking service can make the requested change. If you do not agree with the quote, simply do not reply to the email. The booking will remain unchanged.
How can I cancel my booking and what are the refund conditions?
The cancellation of a booking depends on the ticket’s fare conditions and the options purchased at the time of booking. As a general rule, airline tickets are non-refundable if the cancellation is requested by the traveller. However, Airports & Travel offers Flex50 and Flex100 cancellation insurance, which provides a voucher equal to 50% or 100% of the ticket price, excluding insurance, valid for one year without supporting documentation. These protections are available in 2 versions depending on the cancellation deadline: up to 8 days before departure or up to the day before the outbound flight. For your request to be processed, you must submit it online via the chatbot in your Customer record, under the “Changes - Cancellations ” tab, in the “Cancellation ” section, and select Cancellation without insurance or Cancellation with Flex, depending on whether or not you purchased Flex insurance. You will then receive your refund conditions. You can also ask customer service to do this for you by submitting your request via the Contact page form on Airports & Travel. If the request is urgent and outside business hours, we strongly recommend submitting it directly online through your customer account. Please note: any cancellation request is final
What should I do if the airline cancels my flight, and how can I get a refund?
If your flight is cancelled by the airline, you are entitled to a refund. To obtain this refund, you must request it via the chatbot in your online customer account, under the “Claims” tab, in the “Submit a claim” section. The booking service can then forward the request to the airline. The average refund time is between 2 and 6 weeks, depending on the airline’s refund processing time. Once the refund has been received and processed by the booking service, you will receive a Paytweak “Refund confirmation ” email containing a link asking you for your bank details so that you can receive your refund. Paytweak is our refund partner. The email may end up in your spam or junk folder, so we recommend checking your inbox and the Junk/Spam folder regularly from 10 days after submitting your refund request.
Can I receive a credit voucher or a refund in the event of illness?
In the event of illness, whether you can receive a refund or credit voucher depends on the ticket conditions and the coverage purchased. Airlines are not required to refund a ticket if the flight is operating, even for medical reasons. However, some cancellation insurance policies provide coverage, provided that the illness is recognized as a legitimate reason and the required medical documents are submitted within the deadlines set out in the policy. If you purchased insurance through Airports & Travel, such as the Flex options, you may be eligible for a voucher without supporting documentation, in accordance with the terms stated at the time of booking. It is also possible to request a refund of airport taxes, even if the ticket is non-refundable. For any illness-related request, we recommend using your online customer account, under the “Claims” tab, in the “Submit a claim” section, and attaching the medical documents
What fees apply to a change or cancellation?
Fees for a change or cancellation depend on the type of ticket booked and the applicable fare conditions. As a general rule, non-flexible or discounted tickets cannot be changed free of charge and are non-refundable if cancelled. Some airlines charge “administrative fees” or “reissue fees”, which are added to the price of the airline ticket. If you fail to show up for the flight, “no-show” fees may also be charged. However, if you purchased cancellation insurance or a flexible option, you may be eligible for a voucher or partial refund according to the applicable terms. Even without insurance, it is also possible to request a refund of airport taxes. Before taking any action, we recommend checking your booking conditions in your customer account.
Before departure
When should I arrive at the airport for my flight?
Your arrival time at the airport depends on the type of flight and the travel requirements to be completed before departure. For a domestic or European flight, it is recommended that you arrive at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time. For an international flight, allow around 3 hours to give yourself enough time for check-in, baggage drop-off, security screening and boarding.
How do I check in online?
Online check-in is a simple step that can save you time at the airport. It is completed directly on your airline’s website or mobile app, generally between 30 and 48 hours before departure, depending on each carrier’s rules. Simply enter your booking reference and your name or email address to access your flight, choose your seat if this option is available, and obtain your boarding pass. You can download it to your phone or print it out. Once at the airport, all you will need to do is drop off your baggage at the designated counter.
What should I do if I have not received my ticket or confirmation?
If you have not received your ticket or booking confirmation, start by checking your inbox, including your junk or spam folders. The confirmation email is generally sent automatically after payment. If you cannot find it, log in to your online customer account by clicking the yellow “Manage my booking” button in your “Order being processed” email. This will show you the status of your booking (Confirmed or payment pending). If your booking has not been confirmed, contact customer service using the form on the contact page: https://www.aeroports-voyages.fr/fr/contact.
What should I do if my flight is delayed or if I missed boarding?
If your flight is delayed, you can request assistance or, depending on the circumstances, claim compensation. Under European regulations, if the delay exceeds 2 hours, the airline must provide you with meals, refreshments and, if necessary, accommodation. If you arrive at your destination more than 3 hours late, you may also be entitled to financial compensation, except in cases of extraordinary circumstances such as a strike or bad weather. These claims must be made directly to the airline responsible for the delay, either on its website or by asking a flight attendant for a document. If you miss boarding, the consequences depend on the terms and conditions of your ticket. If you missed boarding through your own fault (arriving late at the airport or failing to report to the gate), the airline is not required to refund you or reroute you. However, if you are denied boarding because of overbooking or a technical problem, you may be entitled to an alternative flight or compensation. To do so, you must submit a request directly to the airline on its website or by asking a flight attendant.
