Over the past decade, the airline has recorded a 23.58% reduction in its CO₂ emissions compared with 2015. This progress follows a consistent path, driven by a gradual transformation of its operating model.
Air Europa builds its strategy around several complementary areas of action. It modernises its fleet with more fuel-efficient aircraft, optimises its flight paths and improves the management of ground operations. This combination reduces overall kerosene consumption and therefore the carbon footprint. The airline also incorporates environmental performance directly into its operational decisions. Emissions indicators are monitored alongside conventional flight-performance data. This approach turns emissions reduction into a daily objective for its teams. Air Europa also relies on technological tools to improve its efficiency. Flight-optimisation systems and taxiing procedures reduce unnecessary consumption during the critical phases of a journey. Fleet modernisation also plays a central role in these results. The airline is not stopping there. It is aiming for a 30% reduction in emissions by 2030. With more than 23% already achieved, Air Europa is now seeking to accelerate the pace in the coming years to reach this target.
