The Finnish airline is strengthening its presence in Europe and stabilising its flight schedule. Starting in 2026, Finnair will serve Luxembourg, Valencia and Turin all year round, no longer limiting these destinations to the summer flights initially planned. The airline has decided to adjust its frequencies to meet growing demand on these strategic routes and optimise the use of its fleet from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to ensure maximum punctuality on these routes. This year-round service gives Travellers greater flexibility, as they can now plan their trips more easily in any season. This expansion will accelerate in 2026 with the addition of 12 new European destinations to its flight schedule. The carrier is also expanding its long-haul network by launching a direct air connection to Toronto in May, before making its major return to Australia with the opening of the route to Melbourne in October. By expanding its air network, Finnair is further strengthening connectivity between Europe, South Asia and North America from its main hub in Helsinki.

Other environmental initiatives
The airline has adopted a circular economy model based on 100% circular materials management. Thus, all waste generated by flights arriving at its Helsinki hub is recovered as energy, heat, biogas, compost or recycled materials, with no waste sent to landfill. Finnair raises awareness among the public and its staff about combating the illegal wildlife trade. It is also working on several fronts to reduce the weight of its aircraft as much as possible by purchasing lightweight materials for the cabin and seats and limiting food waste.
