About the airline Georgian Airways
Based at Tbilisi International Airport, Chota-Roustavéli, the company initially operated charter flights to destinations such as China, India, Italy, Egypt, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as a regular flight to Austria. In 2000, the company modernized its fleet by leasing two Boeing 737-500 aircraft, marking a transition to modern Western-built planes. In August 2004, Airzena was rebranded as Georgian Airways. Its fleet primarily consists of Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, and Bombardier CRJ200 LR aircraft. The company mainly serves destinations in the former Soviet space (Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Israel), and Western Europe (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Netherlands). Georgian Airways has established code-share agreements with several international airlines, including Aegean Airlines, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, or Delta. These partnerships enable the company to offer its passengers a wider range of destinations and services.
