About the airline Pakistan International Airline
PIA is the 31st-largest airline in Asia. Its main bases are in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. PIA also has numerous secondary bases in Pakistan and the Middle East, linked by an extensive flight network. The airline is 87% owned by the Government of Pakistan, with the remaining 13% held by private shareholders. There are, however, plans to fully privatize it in the long term in order to relieve the government of its commitments to the airline. Pakistan International Airlines was also the first non-communist airline to serve Beijing in the 1960s. The airline serves around sixty destinations across Asia, Europe and North America. PIA also operates from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and offers Paris–Islamabad flights.
