The airline Royal Air Maroc is launching 3 routes from Tangier to Malaga, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as 3 routes from Nador to Barcelona, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. This expansion strengthens the connectivity of northern Morocco and positions these airports as true regional gateways. The strategy is based on point-to-point development that limits the need to systematically connect through the Casablanca hub. It meets the needs of Moroccans residing in Europe, particularly in Spain and Germany, while supporting tourism growth in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and Oriental regions. With these additions, Royal Air Maroc now connects 9 Spanish cities with 5 Moroccan cities and offers more than 80 weekly frequencies between the two countries. The German network is also being strengthened, with Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich connected to several Moroccan cities. These new routes also feed the Casablanca hub with connecting passengers travelling onward to Africa and North America. This expansion is part of the national objective of increasing airport capacity by 2030. The first services will begin as early as July to capture the summer peak in travel to visit friends and relatives and for tourism.
