Volotea celebrated the arrival of its 80 millionth passenger at Lille Airport, a symbolic milestone for the Spanish airline since it began operations in 2012. The event provided an opportunity to announce 3 new destinations to be served from Lille in May 2026: Valencia, Las Palmas and Burgas. With these new air connections, Volotea offers 41 direct destinations served from Lille, significantly strengthening its presence in northern France. The airline also plans to base a third aircraft in Lille, marking a major strategic milestone in its partnership with the airport. Since arriving in Lille in 2012, Volotea has gradually expanded its network from the regional hub, meeting growing demand for leisure and regional air connections to Spain, Italy and European tourist destinations. Lille’s selection as the location to celebrate this 80 millionth passenger underscores the importance of the airport in the airline’s long-term development strategy. By combining an expanded network, tailored frequencies and a locally based fleet, Volotea is consolidating its position as a key player in air transport in northern France, offering passengers a wide choice of destinations for leisure and short breaks.
