From 1 May 2026, Wizz Air will launch a new air connection between Paris-Beauvais and Târgu Mureș, with 2 Beauvais–Târgu Mureș flights per week, on Mondays and Fridays. This destination, which is still underserved from France, is located in the heart of Transylvania, a region renowned for its heritage, natural landscapes and distinctive cultural identity, shaped by Romanian, Hungarian and Austro-Hungarian influences. Târgu Mureș charms visitors with its lively city centre, historic buildings and iconic landmarks such as the Palace of Culture and the restored medieval citadel. The city is also an ideal starting point for exploring Transylvania’s traditional villages, forests and rolling hills, which are particularly popular with travellers seeking authenticity and off-the-beaten-track discoveries. With this new route, Wizz Air is further strengthening its key role at Paris Beauvais Airport, where the airline is gradually developing an extensive network to Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The aim is clear: to offer alternative destinations to the major tourist capitals, while meeting growing demand for cities with strong cultural and economic potential. In recent months, Wizz Air has announced several new air connections from Beauvais, notably to Yerevan in Armenia, Craiova in Romania, Podgorica in Montenegro and Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These destinations, served by 2 to 3 flights per week depending on the route, illustrate the airline’s strategy: connecting Paris with regions that are still not easily accessible by direct flight, while maintaining an attractive pricing policy. By expanding its services to Eastern Europe and the Balkans, Wizz Air is reaffirming its ambition to make Paris Beauvais a genuine gateway to these rapidly growing markets, both for leisure travellers and for family or community-related trips.
